Managing one’s own mind and emotions
As we all know now very clearly, without managing one’s own mind and emotions, one cannot enjoy life with excellent health. No other knowledge is more valuable than this,in determining the quality of our life.Whenever one is stressed, the body accumulates certain amount of toxins and the mind accumulates the negative emotions. The more stress we have, the more negative emotions such as fear, anger, jealousy, etc. consciously or unconsciously, affect our lives. Most of the time we think about past mistakes or worry about the future. Some of us glorify our past and constantly plan for the future to be happy without realizing that we lose our present happy moment ! If you carefully watch your mind, which is in gross terms a bundle of thoughts,it wanders always away from the present. That is why we develop the awareness about our inner feelings and thoughts during our meditation class conducted during basic Acupressure Course. Instead of looking at the future to feel happiness, just try to be happy right now with what you have at the present moment.
In Zen Meditation, this concept of feeling happy “right now” at this moment is emphasized and Zen meditators do practice ‘moment by moment living’.This does not mean you don’t plan for the future, but that activity should be enjoyed as the present moment enjoyment. It is the time to turn our attention inward and explore what can be done to develop our inner potential. If you watch your children play, you can learn the great lesson of living in the present.Techniques such as Meditation,Yoga,Pranayama and sincere heartfelt prayer, when practiced regularly, can begin to clear the toxins from the body and mind, which would expand our consciousness and open our heart.Dr. Jiten Bhatt, the world renowned expert in drugless therapies very clearly pointed out in the workshop how one can get health, wealth and happiness by realizing the inner core and sincerely ‘wishing’ with the Pyracard.I can endorse his technique even with closed eyes because he never gives such techniques to the public without scientifically proving the theory.
We
have already noticed that more and more people are moving towards
Drugless Therapies, questioning the core concept of modern medicines. What
ever be the stream of treatment, the cure has to come from within the body
and the mind. You can be exposed to umpteen number of therapies and there
are umpteen Gurus to give guidance, but ultimately everyone must find their
own therapy, which suits them.I am very happy to notice that many people
have registered for the 2003 Research on Migraine that will give us the
insight of curing the root cause of the problem with Acupuncture, rather
than suppressing the symptoms.I invite all those interested in Drugless
Therapies to join our club so that our ultimate aim of giving the universal
concept of ‘Heal Thyself’ can be promoted in every knook and corner
of India, especially to the rural people.
The results of the Diabetic Camp are exhibited in our web Site (http://bhojraj.tripod.com) in PDF Format. This data is updated .We have completed this research .

Relief from Giddiness through Acupressure / Acupuncture
I
suddenly developed giddiness one morning. Infact I was unable to even climb
the staircase. I visited the hospital and underwent a series of tests.
I was supposed to see the doctors again, but decided to call Dr. Bhojraj
and see if something could be done without medication. Dr. Bhojraj
treated me with Acupuncture and to my surprise, the giddiness was totally
gone! I even went to play Golf that evening and had no problem at
all ! Thanks again to Dr. Bhojraj
Itching, shrinkage
of skin on the hands and legs disappeared and sleeplessness overcome with
Acupressure.
My
wife was suffering from severe itching and dry skin with raised ridges
all over the body. The itching was severe at night and she spent sleepless
nights with agony. I consulted a number of allopathy doctors and skin specialists
and the medicines prescribed did not give any relief. Even Homeopathy did
not help.
Thyroid test was also conducted based on dry skin and the tests indicated mal functioning of thyroid glands. Thyrox 25 mg was prescribed and this also did not help. Itching was not due to diabetic as the same was under limits.
Finally I decided to try immunity work out given by Dr. H. Bhojraj in his book. I consulted Dr. J. Jayalakshmi who trained me and conducted the advanced course in Acupressure. She advised me to go ahead with immunity work out programme, which involves activating Solar Plexes and other vital organs like Liver, Thyroid, Spleen, Pituitory, Adrenal and Intestine. Within 10 days, itching completely vanished and she could sleep comfortably. The shrinkage of skin seen in the hands and legs all disappeared.
I thank Dr. Jayalakshmi, who is popularising acupresssure treatament for various ailments.
Migraine : Cured by Acupressure
From
my school days, I was suffering from headache (Migraine) and I was unable
to concentrate on my studies because of this problem. It was half head-ache
and it was very painful. The attack used to be sometimes during mid-night
or early mornings; and in the afternoon also. I had consulted many doctors,
taken several medicines. I had undergone Homoeopathy, Allopathy, Ayurvedic,
Chinese medicines also. Though these used to be some relief, but only for
a short period. For the past 10 years, I have tried all kinds of treatment
for migraine. Even the pain killers did not give me any relief. I even
had the C.T. Scan done which revealed no which did not show any abnormality
in any part of the brain, but the head-ache continued. A few years later
I got married and I completed my studies also. Though I was employed, I
was not able to concentrate on the work due to the head-ache.. I left the
job and was crying all the time and I requested my husband to find some
solution to this pain. He also consulted many people and through one of
his collegues, he got the address of Dr. Bhojraj who was giving treatment
for various ailments through acupuncture.
I explained to Dr. Bhojraj all my problems. He confidentaly told me that my head-ache will be cured, and on the very first visit he started treatment. Within 3 sittings, I got complete relief from this head-ache and I was very happy.
After a few days, I took treatment for my joints pain also through acupressure. I got cured without any medication nor any change even in the diet. I was very much satisfied and I am thankful to Dr. Bhojraj for curing my migraine head-ache and joints pain. He taught me the acupressure points to be activated by me as apreventive measure.
Neuralgia,
or nerve pain affects people in different forms. The nerve pain is the
result of an irritated or damaged nerve. This occurs in various forms in
different parts of the body. If the multi-branched carnial nerve on the
face is affected, it is called a trigeminal neuralgia. This condition occurs
mostly in people over the age of 50 years and women are more prone to this
ailment/condition.
The
nerve pain occurs when the nerve is irritated or inflamed. The pain spreading
along neural pathways can be mild to outright unbearable.
Causes
The nerve pain is generally caused by pressure on a nerve from bones or the connective tissue. Irritation or inflammation of a nerve can also cause such pains in the facial region.
Conventional Treatment
Normally physicians prescribe analgesics for mild neuralgia and opioid analgesics for severe cases. Trigeminal Neuralgia pain can be relieved with anticonvulsants carbamazepine and phenytoin. Sometimes cortico steroids are prescribed to reduce nerve inflamation.
Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture has been shown to be extermely effective in treating neuralgia. As per the acupuncture theory, hotness energy controls the brain and spinal cord, which controls the nervous system. The formula adopted is to reduce yin hotness in the brain (Pericardium) meridian itself in the first sitting if it is due to inflamation : ¯ P-8 P-3 ¯ P-7 ¯ CV (Hotness).
If the nerve pain is due to pressure on the nerve, the coldness in the brain (Pericardium) meridian should be reduced : ¯P-3 P-7 ¯P-9 ¯ CV (Coldness).
It generally takes 10 to 15 sitings spread over a period of one year. Once the pain is under control, yin humidity reduction also works for trigeminal neuralgia : ¯ Sp-6 ¯ Liv-1 ¯Lu-8 ¯ P-7.
If the patient is under long medication, the dosage should be tappered gradually with long acupuncture treatment.
Since coldness energy manifests more in the facial region, patients should protect themselves from cold weather properly and they should avoid exposing their face to cold wind.

Understanding
Auricular Therapy
Dr.Bhojraj
in action
‘The new concept of treating the human body as an invisible unit is gaining momentum in all parts of the world.’
In a house in Rajajinagar that doubles as his clinic, acupuncturist Dr. H. Bhojraj seems to box the ear of a full grown man. The clasping of the patient’s ear by thumb and the forefinger is reminiscent of a school teacher of a bye gone era who punished yours truly.
But what Bhojraj does is acupressure or auricular therapy, the art of healing with finger pressure over speicfic points on the ear. Renowned French neurosergeon Dr. Paul Nogier had made a careful study of the ear and its relationship with the rest of the body before developing this therapy.
“Health is not merely the absence of disease but well-being, not only at a physical level but also onmental. social and spiritual levels. The concept of treating the body as an assembly of seperate, independent parts – hitherto adopted by the medical world – has been proved wrong. The new concept of treating the body as an invisible unit is gaining momentum in all parts of the world.”
Dr. Bhojraj feels drugs merely relieve pain or give a sense of comfort but the body’s own inner intellegence has to balance the system to completly alleviate the disease. The simple healing he follows is known as “drugless therapy” and consistes of acupressure, zone therapy, reflexology, magneto therapy, colour therapy, Pyramidology, nature cure among many more.
Drugless therapy offers an opportunity to reduce medicine intake and provides a cure for daily ailments. The holistic approach, adopted by such simple therapies, offers the common man a wonderful tool to heal himself.
Interestingly, Dr. Bhojraj is a scientist in space research, having qualified as an engineer from Madurai University before joining ISRO Satellite Centre. He now heads its Thermal Fabrication Division. Bhojraj has travelled the world as as part of projects to launch or test satellites and has also received a distinguished award for fabrication of India’s first satellite ‘Aryabhatta’ 1n 1972. He also received the NRDC Republic Day Award in 1990 and 1991. His current areas of research include cryogenic dewars metal-finishing and thin film coatings.
So,
how did he manage to get into the field of acupuncture and acupressure
? Dr. Bhojraj has been committed to social causes and involved in several
health campaigns, having begun courses on Pranayama and meditation techniques
for the public in 1982.
Through
the six years, he has also authored ‘Acupressure and Fitness’ in 1994 and
‘Acupressure’ in 2001, He has also undergone a Pranik Healing course and
practiced Reiki.
As a scientist/technocrat, he is busy during weekends but is awailable on weekends and holidays for consultation and treatment. By establishing an ‘Acupressure Club’, he has managed to spread awareness of the system of healing.
Says Sujata Palyam : “I was suffering from chronic illness for nearly 14 years. About five years ago, I attended Dr. Bhojraj’s basic course in acupressure. I volunteered for demonstration of ‘body balance’. The pain reduced by simply balancing the body. On my request, Dr. Bhojraj agreed to conduct advanced course in Jayanagar for a group of 14 people. His approach to scientific analysis and openness of imparting the techniques appealed to all the participants” she recalls.
Dr.Bhojraj
explains Sujata on this therapy
Dr. Bhojraj sums it up. “Healing is the body’s own process to restore equilibrium when it is disturbed. It is a continuous one and comes from within, not exteranally. It can be assisted from outside from well.

Keeping our commitment to address one ailment each year, the Acupressure Club has ear marked the year 2003 to conduct special treatment camp on Migraine Head Ache. As announced in the previous issue of Acupressure Newsletter, the Camp was started in January 2003. We are glad to inform that 25 people have already joined the camp. As it had happened in our Diabetic Camp last year, the Print Media has played a very significant role in spreading the message of our Camp in their dailies. Reporduced are some of the newspaper announcements. We are thankful to the media in carrying forward our message of Drugless Therapies for relief from severe and chronic ailments.
The enrollment to the camp is open till the end of March 2003. Those who could not join the camp earlier may please contact Mr. Palyam Suresh @ Tel : 663 8091 or on e-mail : manasajnr@satyam.net.in.
We appreciate the interest shown by over 130 registrants for our Diabetic Camp last year. Though the Diabetic Camp was to end by December 2002 as per our plan, we have been request by many to continue the camp this year also. This perhaps is due to the fact that those who were benefited from the Camp last year, have carried forward the message to their friends and contacts. We earnstly thank them all for their efforts to popularise the Drugless Therapies. We have now decided to continue the Diabetic Camp this year also. Those who wish to join the camp may please contact the Programme Coordinator by March 31, 2003.
