One of my colleagues wife was having the problem of pain in the thumb region and was unable to move the thumb to touch the little finger. Though it looks like a minor problem it was coming in the way of her daily work and she was managing the household work with that pain for few months. After that the middle finger also started paining and she has to physically bring back the finger to normal position after bending. Few months back, she was asked to consult the neuro specialist in Manipal Hospital and after all the tests she was advised to undergo a simple surgery to rectify, the problem. She was asked to come at a later date since the operation is not required immediately. The pain was nagging her so much, she almost decided to go for the operation.

In the meantime, my colleague approached me two or three times in the office to enquire about the cure for such problems. This is known as Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and after my assurance it could be cured easily, he did not take the action to bring his wife for treatment to my residence, since he felt the distance was too much. Within few days we had an occasion to meet in a party and after the casual enquiry, I gave her acupuncture treatment on Lu-8 point. To their surprise, the pain vanished after that and she was able to touch the bottom of the little finger with the thumb without any pain. She convinced her husband about our cure and infact forced him to take her for another sitting after a month for the middle finger.This time the pericardium point P- 6 was activated with acupressure. Though there is some improvement, it was not fully cured after 15 days. But she was convinced that the operation suggested by the specialist was not required and she had determined to solve the problem with acupressure or acupuncture.

I have given very good relief to my wife's backache with spinal massage and also by activating Li-4 and B-40.

In fact all our family members have not gone to the doctor or taken medicine for the past two years i.e. from the day I learn Acupressure from Dr. Bhojraj. Thanks to Dr. Bhojraj.

As we know the lung meridian ends in the thumb and Lung 11 is the wind point very useful to relieving headache.
Though it is not essential to get the indication on the nails to get the problem connected with lungs, most of the times we can get some change in the colour of the nail, or some white lines on the thumb nail, or blackening of thumb nail, pain in the thumb or unable to move the thumb. The above problems of the thumb or thumbnail indicate the deficiency of lungs. By energising the lungs with acupressure or acupuncture, we can avoid asthma. TB, Pneumonia and other problems connected with lungs in the beginning of the problem itself.

For Thumb (pain) - Increase the energy of Lung - (Lu-8).

The Large Intestine starts at the tip of the index finger. Any pain or numbness or unable to fold the finger without pain or itching on the index finger indicates the dysfunction of large intestine. Any change in the index finger nail also indicates Large Intestine problem. Any problem connected with large intestine like constipation, diarrhoea, pain in the abdomen, amebeosis, piles, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), rectal pro lapse etc. can be cured by activating the points in this finger. So don't take the pain in your index finger so easily. It indicates that problem is brewing in Large Intestine and will manifest in near future.

So prevent it by activating the appropriate points in the Large Intestine meridian as given in the book.

In traditional acupuncture pericardium, the sac of the heart is considered as one of the 12 organs connected with the meridian. Latest research indicates it represents the Brain also. It represents the nervous system. Pain in the chest region, heavy breathing, heaviness in the chest or pricking pain etc. can be treated in this meridian. The changes in the middle finger indicates the problem either in the pericardium or in the nervous system.

As per the traditional acupuncture our body is divided into three cavities and triple warmer meridian controls the temperatures of all the organs situated in these three cavities. The first cavity holds Heart and Lungs, the second one holds Stomach and Spleen and the third one holds Kidney, Liver and Urinary Bladder. The temperature of all the organs are controlled through this meridian. In this latest research, it indicates the spinal cord which is paired with the organ Brain. It controls the function of all organs through the nervous system.

Fever for children can be easily cured without any medication with this meridian. Even rheumatic fever, due to TB infection, pneumonia fever, due to cold can all be treated in this meridian.

When the heat is not controlled in the spleen and stomach, it creates gas problem, pain in the stomach, ulcer, hyper acidity etc. Even burning sensation in the stomach, blurpping and inflammation of stomach are due to the heat in the stomach.

The excess heat in the spleen can create spleenomegaly. The deficiency of energy in spleen can cause anaemia, Thalassemia (sickle cell anaemia), leukaemia, Haemophilia etc. Fever due to malaria and filaria can also be treated in this meridian.

By activating the acupoints in the meridian, even typhoid fever can be cured without taking any antibiotics. Most of the people who suffer from heart ailments were treated with antibiotics for rheumatic fever. The rheumatic fever can be treated in this meridian and can avoid future heart ailments for children.

Symptoms of the ring finger, pain or unable to bend indicate that Triple Warmer meridian is in problem.

Open and close your fingers as you give acupressure at this point.

Massage all these points 2 minutes at every point, 3 times a day for atleast three weeks.

Avoid hot spicy food and eat atleast 2 hours before going to bed. Don’t drink water after dinner.

Iridology’ dates back to the early 1800s when a young Hungarian, Ignatz Von Peczelv, caught an owl in his garden. While struggling with the owl, he accidentally broke its leg. When he looked into the owl's eyes, he saw a black stripe appear. As he nursed it back to health, the black stripe was replaced by white lines. Years later, von Peczely became a doctor and observed changes in his patient's eyes after accidents, surgeries, and illnesses. He created the first chart of the iris based on these findings.

Modern Iridology was pioneered by Dr. Bernard Jonson of USA, who developed a map of the iris that represents the placement of organs and tissues. The iris is divided into seven zones; the right iris is comparable to the right side of the body; the left, to the left side. There are 90 known specific areas on each iris and each iris is different. These specific areas and the organs connected to it will be covered in subsequent issues.
